Former world number one Maria Sharapova is back at Wimbledon! Twenty years after winning her first Grand Slam, the Russian former WTA star entered Wimbledon’s Center Court again but not as a player. As she flexed her name to her adorable son with great pride, admirer Ons Jabeur couldn’t help but be bewitched by the mother-
son duo. Maria Sharapova finally visited Wimbledon Center Court with her family and shared glimpses from the trip with her followers. She shared many pictures, from holding her son Theo’s hand on the iconic grass court to showing her name on the winner’s board, taking Theo on a tour of the stadium, and an adorable family picture at the end. “My heart is full ðŸ¤ðŸƒ,” said the five-time Grand Slam champion. Sharapova’s adorable visit to the British Grand Slam’s center court caught the attention of many, including the Tunisian WTA star Ons Jabeur. After witnessing the former Russian WTA star’s post, Jabeur quickly dropped three heart emojis expressing her love for Sharapova and her son Theo, reliving the former tennis player’s epic 2004 victory.
In an interview with People magazine, this former world’s number-one spilled the beans about her Wimbledon plans this year. “We spend more time in California since having our son, but also my fiancé’s British, so we spend summers in Europe,” she said. The grass slam has always been special for the Russian former tennis player. Sharapova won Wimbledon in 2004 at just 17 against her biggest rival and the then two-time defending champion Serena Williams, 6-1, 6-4. Sharapova responded to Ons Jabeur’s comment nicely. Channeling her
humble attitude, Sharapova said to Jabeur, “So nice to see you!” The Tunisian tennis player replied with similar gratitude and gestures. This is not the first time the duo shared an adorable admiration for each other. Previously, Sharapova motivated Jabeur, saying that she wished Jabeur would win a Grand Slam.
